Job description

As a part-time teacher in English with a focus on Science and Technology, you will contribute to the development of language skills essential to future engineers.
You will provide lively, structured and practical lessons, in collaboration with a dynamic teaching team.

In concrete terms, your missions include:

Lead 6 modules of 2 hours, given 4 times each (48 hours in total).
Teach technical and scientific English in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) context.
Equip you to learn grammar and vocabulary from professional situations related to technology and engineering.
To give lessons to higher education students in a spirit of active support.
Provide, when planned, sessions in pairs with a colleague.
To promote student involvement and interest through an interactive and varied pedagogy.

Profile

Training & technical skills

Master's degree in languages, linguistics or equivalent training, or proven experience in teaching English.
Very good command of English (C1 minimum).
Real interest – or strong curiosity – in STEM science, technology, and professional contexts.
Comfortable teaching technical and scientific English, or motivated to prepare for it quickly.
Knowledge of the CEFR/CEFRL and language proficiency levels.
Previous experience with upper secondary school students or, ideally, with higher education students.
Understanding of the general functioning of higher education in Belgium.
