A Nurse specialized in psychiatry (m/f/x)
For a full-time or part-time permanent contract (min 80%)
What does the job consist of?
As a psychiatric nurse, you provide nursing, relational and psychosocial care to inpatients. You support them on a daily basis in order to preserve, restore or improve their physical and mental health, while promoting their autonomy and reintegration.
Your main responsibilities
· To accompany patients by creating a therapeutic relationship of trust, by supporting them in their care pathway and by promoting their autonomy.
· Ensure clinical surveillance and patient safety, prevent crisis situations and intervene appropriately when necessary.
· Carry out the nursing care prescribed or related to your own role: administration of treatments, clinical monitoring, technical procedures and monitoring of their progress.
· Participate in individual and group therapeutic activities, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
· To inform and support patients and their relatives, by providing them with listening, information and support in the various stages of their care.
· Contribute to the continuity of care by participating in transmissions, multidisciplinary meetings and the development of individualized therapeutic projects.
· Ensure the administrative follow-up of care and complete the nursing file with rigor.
Your team and your environment
· Join a close-knit and caring team of 6 nurses and 1 nursing assistant, supervised by Noureddine Rafiaa, head nurse, who promotes collaboration, listening and skills development.
· You will work in a human-sized psychiatric unit, welcoming up to 30 patients, where the quality of care and the therapeutic relationship occupy a central place.
· You will work in a pleasant environment, designed for the well-being of everyone. The unit has convivial living areas, a living room, a large room dedicated to meals and therapeutic activities, as well as a garden with a vegetable garden and rabbits. A soothing setting that contributes to the recovery of patients and offers teams a particularly pleasant place to work.

Your education
· You are in possession of a Bachelor's degree in nursing stamped and registered by the Medical Commission of Brabant.
· Specialization in psychiatry is highly desired.
Your experience and knowledge
· Experience in psychiatry is an asset but if you are looking for a new/first experience and have an affinity with psychiatry, you are welcome.
· You have a working knowledge of psychiatric pathologies and prevention techniques relating to psychiatric conditions.
· You have a basic knowledge of mental health patient rights regulations and procedures.
· You have a good knowledge of Dutch: You are able to understand the patient's needs and communicate with your colleagues.
· Your computer knowledge allows you to ensure optimal follow-up of patient files.
Your skills
· You easily establish a relationship of trust thanks to your listening, your empathy and your ability to accompany each patient with kindness.
· You demonstrate composure and emotional stability, even in complex or crisis situations, by adopting a reassuring and professional attitude.
· You have an excellent sense of observation, allowing you to quickly identify changes in the physical or mental state of patients and to act appropriately.
· You appreciate working in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate effectively with doctors, psychologists, social workers and all health professionals.
· You are creative! We encourage initiatives and you will have the opportunity to design, offer and lead therapeutic workshops adapted to the needs and interests of patients (creative activities, well-being, cooking, gardening, games, etc.), actively contributing to their care pathway.
· You communicate with respect and discretion, respecting the confidentiality, dignity and rights of patients.
· You are autonomous, organized and responsible, able to take initiative while adapting to the needs of patients and the priorities of the department.

· Working hours: Day work (7am-3pm, 7am-1pm, 2.30pm-8.30pm and 1pm-8.30pm)
