In order to support the exciting growth of our biorefinery business unit, we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Analytical Biochemical Laboratory Technician intern to join our team. In this crucial internship, you will play a direct role in our research and development efforts, gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge biochemical analysis.

You will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to a variety of analytical tests and experiments, with a focus on the analysis of lipids, sugars, and proteins. This internship provides exposure to advanced techniques such as HPLC, mass spectrometry (MS), and various spectroscopic methods. We are looking for someone with a strong fundamental understanding of biochemical principles and laboratory procedures, willing to apply their knowledge in a dynamic start-up environment.

👉 As an intern, you will contribute and learn about:

• Develop and optimize analytical methods for the quantification and characterization of lipids, sugars and proteins.

• Perform routine and nonroutine analyses using techniques such as HPLC, MS, and other spectroscopic methods (e.g., UV-Vis, FTIR, Raman).

• Sample preparation for analysis, including extraction, purification, and diversion.

• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including HPLCs, MSs, and spectrometers, under supervision.

• Analyze and interpret data, and assist in the preparation of reports summarizing results.

• Contribute to the development and validation of new analytical methods.

• Collaborate with other scientists and researchers to support the project's objectives.

Education: Currently or recently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or a closely related scientific field. 🎓

Availability: We are looking for year-round interns for a minimum period of three months 📆

Technical skills and interests:

• A strong academic foundation in analytical biochemistry, with an interest in the analysis of lipids, sugars and proteins.

• Theoretical exposure or understanding of techniques such as HPLC, MS (LC-MS, GC-MS) and spectroscopic methods is an important asset.

• Knowledge of basic sample preparation techniques for biochemical analyses.

• A thirst for learning data analysis and interpretation software.
