Deputy Head Nurse for Unit 92: Pediatric Digestive Surgery and Polysomnography

Permanent

Job description

Joining our team means becoming part of a dynamic department focused on the care of children and adolescents with digestive pathologies or those followed as part of a liver transplant. Every day, we put our skills at the service of demanding care pathways, in an environment where technical expertise and patient support go hand in hand. 🧸💉

By joining our team, you will dive into a dynamic environment where we provide varied and specialized care:

Pediatric Liver Transplant Center and Gastroenterology:

The pediatric liver transplant center is internationally recognized for its expertise. As the only French-speaking center in Belgium to perform living-donor liver transplants on pediatric patients, it provides comprehensive pre- and post-transplant follow-up, representing the major part of the department's activity. We also provide care for patients with inflammatory bowel disease, food allergies, and pancreatic pathologies. We also handle surgeries such as appendectomies and inguinal hernias.

Polysomnography:

We care for patients admitted for day hospital stays for sleep studies.

This is a department where multidisciplinary collaboration is at the heart of our daily work! 🤝 Thanks to this synergy, our teams guarantee integrated and personalized care, working hand in hand to offer the best to our young patients and their families.

🔍 As a Deputy Head Nurse, you assist the Head Nurse in the following missions:

  • organizing, coordinating, and ensuring the continuity of care provided in your department in partnership with the Head Physician, the responsible physician, and various paramedical contributors, in compliance with the Nursing Department's policy and care standards;
  • controlling and evaluating activities within the framework of a continuous quality improvement process;
  • managing and developing personnel;
  • welcoming, integrating, and supervising new staff and nursing students;
  • maintaining collaborative relationships within your sector of activity and with other care units;
  • promoting communication between the department and all ancillary services (pharmacy, sterilization, supplies, admissions, etc.) with a view to providing the best patient service;
  • identifying, analyzing, and generating staff training needs and communicating them to your direct supervisor and the training manager;
  • ensuring the proper use and maintenance of equipment, facilities, and premises.

Joining our team is not just about being part of a group; it is about becoming a key player in a continuous improvement process to offer the best to our patients. So, ready to take on the challenge with us? 💪✨
