Job description
Are you an ambitious individual looking to tackle climate change during working hours too? We are a climate tech start-up located in the heart of Brussels, seeking an ambitious and motivated person to help us build our product.
At Tapio, we are developing a software to accelerate the climate transition. Our partners and in-house Climate Experts use Tapio to work more efficiently and provide added value to their clients. We already have a mature product, but we want to bring it to the next level!
Who are we?
We know companies have a significant role in the global sustainable transition, and Tapio is here to inspire them to tackle climate change. We provide the tools and carbon expertise they need to succeed. We envision a decarbonized future, and we’re looking to team up with great people to solve problems. Does this sound like a match?

While your main focus will be backend development, having an interest and capability in DevOps would be a significant bonus.
Responsibilities:
Backend Development: Design and develop robust and scalable features using Python and associated frameworks such as Django or Flask.
Data Management: Design and optimize database schemas, write efficient queries, and ensure data integrity. Work with databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
Testing and Code Quality: Write unit and functional tests to ensure code quality. Use automated testing tools such as PyTest to optimize the testing process.
Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and optimize database queries to improve application performance. Implement caching mechanisms and load balancing.
Data Security: Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure secure user authentication. Use security protocols and authentication frameworks such as JWT or OAuth.
Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to design and implement cohesive solutions.
Technological Watch: Stay updated on the latest technologies, best practices, and trends in backend Python development and secured coding practices. Participate in training and professional development events.
