Job description

The Advocacy Coordinator's mission within our coalition of ecopreneurs is to organize collaborative development and implement the advocacy strategy for policies that support and accelerate the transition to entrepreneurial practices that respect the planetary boundaries. Working closely with the operations team, the Board of Directors, members and partners, he/she is responsible for shaping our policy proposals, supported by relevant scientific evidence, and initiating impactful campaigns that promote the adoption of virtuous, regenerative, circular and/or collaborative business models.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Design, organize, and facilitate groups of ecopreneurs engaged in advocacy development

  • Be inspired by Ecopreneur EU's views and optimise the transfer of Kaya's proposals to the European network

  • Ensure the formulation of policy proposals in line with the coalition's mission and beliefs

  • Managing the process of approval of proposals within the coalition

  • Supporting Kaya's spokesperson(s) to political, economic and social decision-makers and the company's ecological and solidarity transition community

  • Implement the advocacy strategy with the animation and communication team

  • Working with transition actors in civil society


  • Academic background: An academic background in fields such as environmental science, political science, law, economics, or other relevant fields can be an advantage, although practical experience is also valuable

  • Commitment to the transition and knowledge of environmental and social issues: Understanding current environmental and social challenges, as well as trends in sustainable development and entrepreneurship, is essential to develop relevant policy proposals

  • Communication skills: Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, both in writing and orally, preferably in French and Dutch, in order to mobilize members, partners and external stakeholders around the objectives of the coalition


  • Coordination skills: Leading advocacy initiatives requires the ability to assemble and motivate a team while remaining consistent with the coalition's strategic vision

  • Knowledge of networks and relationships: Having a network of contacts in the political, business and environmental spheres can facilitate effective advocacy, especially in the Flemish Community

  • Creativity and innovation: Coming up with innovative ideas for impactful advocacy campaigns and creating original entrepreneurial solutions will be key assets to encourage the adoption of sustainable business models

  • Collaboration skills: Work closely with the Board of Directors, coalition members, and external partners to coordinate effective actions

  • Analytical and synthesis skills: The ability to conduct in-depth research on public policy, environmental and social data, as well as entrepreneurship best practices, is necessary to support advocacy
