Eco-responsible offices, a collaborative atmosphere and a community that makes a difference... Welcome to Mundo-Lab! 🏢🌳
For the record, the Mundo project was born in 2008 thanks to Brussels associations committed to the environment, sustainable development and fair trade. 🌱 Their dream? A workplace that reflects their values : sustainable, eco-responsible and shared. With Mundo-Lab, they transformed a building into an eco-designed and eco-managed office space, giving birth to the Mundo Matongé in Ixelles... and the concept of the "Mundo" centres!
Today, 6 Mundo centres exist in Belgium : 3 in Brussels (Matongé, Trône, Madou), as well as in Antwerp, Namur and Louvain-la-Neuve. These spaces welcome 230 organizations – associations, NGOs, and social enterprises – in a stimulating working environment aligned with their values. At Mundo, each member (much more than just a tenant!) is part of a community where exchanges encourage collaborations and new joyful synergies! 🧡
Did you know? Mundo's daily management is designed to be 100% sustainable ! ♻️ Yes, responsible consumption is everywhere and at every stage of the project: renovation and construction with a circular approach, green corners with a particular attention to biodiversity, natural, local and labelled materials, optimised energy and water management, waste reduction, choice of service providers, pooling of infrastructure and resources, etc. Nothing is left to chance, to the delight of all (and the planet!). 🌍💚 One thing is certain, it's that the team has put all its heart into creating pleasant and inspiring workspaces, making it a real trademark !
And the icing on the cake is that each center hosts a restaurant that offers healthy, local and seasonal dishes, available for catering from members and room tenants... A gourmet partnership that delights more than one! 👩🍳🥗
A taste of the team
Mundo-Lab is above all a dynamic, close-knit, proactive, open team ready to move mountains, where people are important. 🧡
And because we all like to share convivial moments, the team organizes lots of activities : Christmas lunch, New Year's breakfast or afterworks in Pecha Kucha mode, where everyone introduces themselves in 20 images of 20 seconds... Laughter guaranteed! 😄 Recently, the finance team even surprised everyone with an afterwork by inviting a salsa teacher ! Good times and lots of laughter on the program! 💃
And to top it all off, the team organises an annual green in magnificent places such as the Eau d'Heure dams, the North Sea or the Belgian Ardennes. 🌲 This brings together all the teams of the 6 centres, from members of the field to the management, and it is often an opportunity for some to meet for the first time in a friendly atmosphere and outside of work. The team always spends a night on site, strengthening the bonds by experiencing community life together! 🤸♀️
As you can see, at Mundo-Lab, there is never a dull moment : every day is full of stimulating and enriching challenges ! And if you want to progress, the team will be there to accompany you in your evolution and support your initiatives, which gives you real freedom of action !
Oh yes, here, wearing sneakers is widely allowed! We are told that it is even possible to meet people in socks in the corridors... 🧦 A cool place, we tell you!

Our commitments to a sustainable world
D’un point de vue local, on peut dire que Mundo-Lab est archi présent : Mundo-Lab crée une véritable synergie entre les organisations installées dans ses centres, favorisant ainsi une communauté d'acteur·ices du changement ! 🤗 En plus des bureaux, chaque centre s'anime avec des restaurants ouverts au public et divers événements solidaires (dons de sang, campagnes et collectes solidaires).
Mundo-Lab aménage également un potager en collaboration avec les associations de quartier et propose des points de collecte pour Brita, Bebat et autres types de ressources, accessibles à tous. 🌱✨ Les centres s'engagent pour l'environnement avec des espaces de compost, des jardins Natagora pour la biodiversité, et de vastes parkings vélos pour encourager la mobilité douce (et sportive !). 🚴♀️
Chez Mundo-Lab, la responsabilité environnementale est au cœur de chaque projet ! 🌍 En réaménageant des bâtiments ou en en construisant de nouveaux, Mundo-Lab se concentre sur une approche durable et circulaire pour minimiser son impact. Cette vision se concrétise à travers des choix de matériaux naturels, locaux et labellisés, une gestion optimisée de l'énergie et de l'eau, une réduction des déchets et une attention particulière à la biodiversité dans les espaces extérieurs.
À Louvain-la-Neuve, ce modèle prend une ampleur unique : le centre utilise 90 % de mobilier de réemploi, ainsi que 100 % des vitrages intérieurs issus de récupération, 46 % des portes de réemploi, et 1250 m² de faux planchers. La prouesse technique réside dans l’utilisation de 68 tonnes de poutrelles en acier de réemploi, une première en Europe qui réduit l’impact environnemental jusqu'à 20 fois par rapport à de l’acier neuf ! Waouw ! 🤩👌
La mission de Mundo-Lab est d'apporter un soutien précieux aux associations en leur offrant un cadre où elles peuvent se concentrer pleinement sur leur mission sociale, ce qui favorise l'efficacité de leurs (belles) actions. 🧡 Mundo-Lab sélectionne également ses partenaires et sous-traitants avec soin, privilégiant les projets de réinsertion par le travail et les acteurs de l'économie sociale (comme APAM et la ressourcerie Namuroise).
