Learn more about us
Every hour, 3 Belgians die of cardiovascular disease.
Founded in 1968, the Belgian Cardiology League has been fighting for more than 55 years to reduce this mortality through free prevention accessible to all. ❤️
Informing, raising awareness, supporting : three missions that guide each of the League's actions. To inform Belgians about the heart, the risk factors and the symptoms to be recognized. Raise awareness of these diseases through prevention campaigns, Heart Week, congresses and free screening days. To support patients and their relatives via a telephone hotline, the popularization of information and contacts with cardiac patients' clubs. 🫀
The League relies on the expertise of a scientific committee bringing together representatives of all Belgian universities and general medicine. It is also one of the most internationally recognised networks: European Heart Network, World Heart Federation and Belgian Resuscitation Council. A rare scientific credibility, at the service of all Belgians.
Financed solely by donations from citizens, without state subsidies, the League acts in complete independence. Joining the League means joining an organization where every team member has a direct and measurable impact on thousands of lives.
A team on a human scale, united around a great mission and real freedom of action. Are you looking for a meaningful job where your work really matters? The Belgian Cardiology League is waiting for you. 💪
A taste of the team
At the Belgian Cardiology League, the team is as committed as the mission it bears! 4 employees, mostly women, united around a common goal: to save lives. 🫀
In a team of this size, everyone knows each other and relies heavily on each other. Communication is direct, every voice counts and no heavy hierarchy: here we work in a spirit of trust, with space for initiative and flexibility.
Loyalty speaks for itself: some employees have been with us for more than 10 years. A longevity that says everything about the atmosphere and the meaning that everyone finds in their daily work.
Bilingual FR/NL, the team collaborates with a network of committed cardiologists, general practitioners and volunteers throughout Belgium. A stimulating environment, in contact with the best medical experts in the country. 🇧🇪
Are you looking for a job where you are useful, listened to and autonomous, at the heart of an emblematic Belgian non-profit organisation ? Welcome to the team! ❤️

Our commitments to a sustainable world
Free prevention accessible to all is at the heart of the League's mission. Free screening days, awareness campaigns, quarterly magazine, podcasts and webinars: all the tools are free and available to all Belgians, without exception. 🫀
Every minute counts during a cardiac arrest. That's why the Liga developed the Reanim app, which maps the nearest defibrillators and allows you to call emergency services in one click, and the Heart Knights campaign to honor those who dared to act and save a life. 1 minute saved means 10% more chance of survival. ❤️
Cardiovascular disease does not affect everyone in the same way. The League is specifically committed to women's hearts, whose symptoms are often unknown and underdiagnosed. An inclusive and differentiated approach, because every life counts !
The League is not only aimed at the general public. It also raises awareness among health professionals via an annual congress for general practitioners, nutrition seminars, prevention guidelines and an e-newsletter distributed to cardiologists, general practitioners and internists. An essential bridge between science and the field. 🩺
The League does not stop at prevention. It supports patients and their relatives after a heart problem via a telephone hotline, the popularisation of medical information and a network of Cardiac Patients' Clubsthroughout Belgium. 🤝
