Do you feel this urge to do work that matters? Do you dream of waking up in the morning to contribute to something bigger than yourself? You’ve probably already told yourself: “I’d love to work in impact... but where do I even start?”

Between ultra-committed speeches, NGOs on the other side of the world, and somewhat vague terms, it’s not always easy to see things clearly. But spoiler alert: you don’t need to be a radical eco-activist or a CSR expert to find a job with purpose. Whether you’re retraining, a recent graduate, or simply feeling lost regarding the meaning of your professional life, this guide is here to help you gain clarity, set your foundations... and above all, take the plunge. 🚀

What does impact actually mean?

Before diving in headfirst, a quick vocabulary check: an impact job or internship is a professional experience that contributes, on its own scale, to solving social and/or environmental challenges.

  • Working in a purpose-driven company

  • Joining an association, a cooperative, or an NGO

  • Having a “classic” job but within a committed organization

  • Starting your own impact project or why not join an existing project as a co-founder? We feature committed initiatives looking for their future co-founder 👉 Become a co-founder

Impact isn’t limited to CSR or renewable energy. It can also take the form of a marketing, HR, finance, or tech job... with a common goal: to have a societal or environmental purpose.

Let go of the myths (no, there is no “impact” degree)

Spoiler #2: there is no single path to working in impact. You can come from communications, finance, biology, social work... There is no typical profile.
