For the Internal Medicine – Cardiology Unit (C21), at our Joseph Bracops site, a

Nurse (m/f/x)

For a full-time or part-time permanent contract (80%)

Our C21 unit is a place where internal medicine and cardiology come together to provide our patients with comprehensive care to treat cardiovascular disease and complex medical conditions. It is a semi-acute medicine unit. Our team consists of a senior cardiologist and a senior endocrinologist in charge of internal medicine, as well as nurses and other specialized health professionals. We place special emphasis on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, the optimization of medical treatment and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Our goal is to ensure the overall well-being of our patients by treating not only their symptoms, but also the underlying risk factors and associated comorbidities.

What does the job consist of?

Within our internal medicine – cardiology unit, you will accompany patients with various profiles in rich and stimulating clinical situations. You will work in a dynamic environment where team spirit, mutual aid and knowledge sharing are really part of the department's culture.

As an internal medicine nurse, you provide comprehensive nursing care, adapted to the needs of patients, while providing human and reassuring support for them and their loved ones. Thanks to your ability to adapt, your sense of priorities and your composure, you can effectively manage acute situations and emergencies while maintaining an optimal quality of care. You will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the continuity and safety of care.

Your responsibility:

·      Provide appropriate nursing care to inpatients in internal medicine and cardiology;

·      Conduct clinical surveillance and respond appropriately to emergency situations;

·      Inform, support and accompany patients and their relatives with empathy and professionalism;

·      Collaborate closely with doctors in the performance of specific technical procedures;

·      Actively participate in multidisciplinary transmissions and meetings to ensure continuity of care;

·      Share your knowledge with your colleagues and support students in training;

·      Ensure the proper functioning of materials and equipment according to established procedures;

·      Work in compliance with confidentiality, security and quality rules.

Your environment, your team and your manager

·      You work at our Joseph Bracops site, located at Rue Dr Huet 79, 1070 Anderlecht.

·      You will join a multidisciplinary team made up of 14 nurses, 2 nursing assistants, 1 logistics assistant and 1 administrative assistant.

·      You are supervised by Laura Remy, head nurse and Sara Da Cunha, deputy head nurse.

Your education

·      You are in possession of a Bachelor's degree in nursing stamped and registered by the Medical Commission of Brabant.

Your experiences and knowledge

·      You already have experience or are you looking for a first or new experience

·      Experience in internal medicine and/or cardiology is an asset.

·      You have a good knowledge of Dutch: You are able to understand the patient's needs and communicate with your colleagues

·      Ability to communicate in a clear, empathetic and structured way with patients, relatives and the entire multidisciplinary team, promoting continuity and quality of care.

·      Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate care independently, including in emergency situations, while actively contributing to team dynamics and patient safety.

·      Ability to transmit knowledge, supervise nursing students and support new employees, by adopting a pedagogical, benevolent and structuring posture.

·      Flexibility and responsiveness to changes, complex clinical situations and the specific needs of patients in internal medicine and cardiology.

·      Ability to provide services in variable hours (nights, weekends) in a spirit of continuity of care and professional commitment.
