For the orthopaedic medicine-surgery department on the Molière Longchamp site, a

Nurse (m/f/x)

For a full-time permanent contract

What does the job consist of?

As a nurse for unit J41, you will join a mixed medicine and surgery department that is part of the orthopaedic PRAM. The "Rapid Recovery" protocol is practiced in this unit, aimed at mobilizing patients as quickly as possible in order to regain autonomy and prevent postoperative complications.

You provide comprehensive nursing care and support the patient (reception, preparation, monitoring) before, during and after an operation. You master the room equipment as well as the procedures established according to the interventions. You understand the importance of collaboration with physicians and the multidisciplinary team in order to participate in the continuity and quality of care. You use patience and empathy to inform and support patients and their loved ones. You know how to adapt to all situations and you know how to manage emergencies. Your mission to medical and surgical patients is to maintain, improve or restore their health, well-being and independence.

Your environment, your team and your manager

·      You will join a dynamic unit made up of 17 employees: 14 nurses, 1 nursing assistant, 1 logistics assistant and 1 administrative employee;

·      You are supervised by Yassine El Bachari, head nurse and Laura Delaby, deputy head nurse, both close to the field and accessible.

·      You work in J41, a unit that includes 10 medical beds and 22 orthopaedic surgery beds.

From September, the J41 joins the C.A.R.E UP! project, in which the organisation of nursing work has been rethought in order to better distribute the workload and enhance the skills of each person. As such, you will actively participate in the organization of the day and in the consultation within the team.

Your education

·      You are in possession of a Bachelor's degree in nursing stamped and registered by the Medical Commission of Brabant

Your experiences and knowledge

·      You are looking for a new experience and you have at least 2 years of experience in a hospital environment.

·      You have an affinity for internal medicine, surgery and orthopedics.

·       You have a good knowledge of Dutch : You are able to understand the patient's needs and communicate with your colleagues

·      Your computer knowledge allows you to be comfortable with the tools used on a daily basis.

·      Demonstrate dynamism, flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced care environment

·      Ensure rigorous clinical monitoring and quickly identify any situation requiring intervention

·      Ensure patient safety through adherence to procedures, protocols, and best practices

·      Develop a preventive approach to anticipate risks and complications

·      Communicate professionally, clearly and caringly with patients, families and colleagues

·      Collaborate effectively with the entire multidisciplinary team

·      Manage priorities and unforeseen events with composure and efficiency

·      Carry out patient care and handling with respect for comfort and safety

·      Be able to contribute ideas, share your vision in the field and actively contribute to the continuous improvementof the service

·      Work independently while maintaining a strong team spirit and mutual aid

 What we offer you

·      Type of contract: Permanent contract

·      Working time: 100% (38h/week) or minimum 80% (30h24/week)

·      Opening hours: Morning, afternoon and night.
